BSAC START YOUR ADVENTURE

BSAC TRY SCUBA

A typical Try Dive involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in a swimming pool with Bill our BSAC instructor to make sure you get maximum enjoyment from your first scuba dive.

A Try Dive can help you get a real feel for scuba diving before you book a course. It also gives you the chance to meet us.

 BSAC DISCOVERY DIVER

BSAC's Discovery Diver course is open to anyone from the age of 10.

You’ll just need to demonstrate that you can comfortably swim 200m in a pool.

On your BSAC Discovery Diver course, you will:

  • Learn how to use basic dive gear, including your mask and snorkel
  • Control your buoyancy and underwater movements
  • Understand your basic scuba diving safety skills – you’ll find out the importance of time, depth and gas
  • Discover how to plan and manage your diving

BSAC's Discovery Diver course includes three theory modules, three pool or sheltered water modules, and at least two open-water dives.

BSAC OCEAN DIVER

If you’re keen to learn to dive, the BSAC’s Ocean Diver course is the place to start. This entry-level open water diver qualification will equip you with the core skills to dive to a maximum of 20 metres in open water, in the UK and abroad.

The BSAC Ocean Diver course is open to anyone from the age of 12.

With BSAC's Ocean Diver course, your diving adventure is only just beginning. Developing your scuba diving skills:

  • You can quickly progress to Advanced ocean diver which is the next grade in BSAC’s Diver Training Programme, allowing you to progress to 30m depths without decompression stops.
  • Alternatively, you can go straight to Sports Diver giving you the opportunity to perform longer, deeper dives with decompression stops, as well as learning rescue skills.
  • You could also develop specific skills to expand your diving interests further. Imagine understanding more about wreck diving or driving a dive boat.
